yeah good idea, just make sure you do a really good job masking EVERYTHING, and make the tape on the nips nice and neat, should be sick man

just spray paint your rims b-4 you lace them, that way you don't have to slave over the internet to find orange s types. plus rims without stickers look better imp

orange is sooo sick but they uped the price this year, i got mine for 550 now they are 600!! how are you going to get one? i know abc cycles is a santa cruz dealer but im sure they are selling them for like 650 , i mean i come up to mtl a lot so if you want you can send it to my house. Just gotta check my schedule.

aight good that would be dope to ride with another dude that has a jackal, i WAS the only person in montreal with one and im the only one in ny. I mean the frame is the most amazing piece of work ive ever seen, the welds and the tubing is just beautiful. What color you getting? get a cool color like a different color not white or black or blue haha nah im joking. But the sand one looks sick in person.

from my experience no the the dj3s are horrible, why would you consider that if you are willing to dish out the cash for a 55ata or a pike or even a fox. But of you want to get something a little cheaper go for the manitou gold labels or argyles 318 or even an rst space air (which are amazing and cheap), but your build is perfect so far

suckafreedmr wrote
August 18, 2008 at 16:19
either one of your rim choices are nice and light, check out atom lab pimp lites aswell and i would get a 55 ata because of the bling factor, the weight, and the fact that its stronger

suckafreedmr wrote

and i wont be in manhattan during the winter or spring loool i will be in mtl most probably or somewhere else

suckafreedmr wrote

right now my bike is 31lbs, with all the upgrades it will be down to 28.6 lbs

suckafreedmr wrote

that sounds good except your tire choice is bad, either get kenda small block eights if you go with kenda or intense micro nobies or maxxis holy rollers, the hookworms are boats i had them on my old bike. The rest sounds good. i would go SS because if you got gears you would need a guide too. Plus if your find a good ratio its amazing. My build in the picture that i have is 35 pounds with parts that are way lighter than you listed and i don't have a guide. Trust me go SS or you will have a 36lbs-37lbs HT, not too fun because you will want to throw down and learn some good street tricks in the future

hfx9 carbon brakes (heavy), kmc light chain, don't buy a fork thats lower than 100mm for the jackal the geo is off. I would get a fork that has adjustable travel and air since you are going to use it for everything like i do. Like a fox or a 55 ata

My specs: Blue 08 jackal, race face diabolus cranks 170mm( DO NOT GET 175mm!! they will hit your stays), FSA k-dh bar, funn rippa stem soon to be a x4 polished, fsa pig headset soon to be crank bros, manitou nixon elite dropped to 100mm(soon to be 09 fox 32 talas QR15), horizontal drop outs, atom lab GI pedals (they suck), e.13 chain ring and bash guard, hope seat collar, race face candence road seat post, funn race lite seat (soon to be wtb silverado pro), sunline grips, mavic ex325 rims laced to xt hubs, and the tires are light weight specialized tires like 400g!

My frame size is a large, i'm 6' now i was 5'11 when i bought it. But i heard that if your 5'10" and up you should get a large because the small is cramped.

For flat out DH riding (Gnarly, rooty, rocky terrain) I would snag the v10. It's a tough choice though, they are all amazing.
